Grandma fell this morning. I had bought a bed to put in her room so that I would hear her when she got up in the middle of the night. Two weeks ago I bought it. I have been putting it off because I’m lazy and used my free time (haha) to watch t.v. And last night she got up on her own and fell in the bathroom. Blood everywhere. Bruises everywhere. Pain everywhere. All because I didn’t want to sleep back there with her. We had to call 911. She was just laying there face down between the tub and the toilet saying help me help me. But I couldn’t help her. All I could do is cover her with a blanket and tell her to lay still. I keep cleaning it up, but I can’t seem to get all the blood. I mean what kind of person lets that happen to her grandmother.

Summer I shall miss you. Next Monday is the beginning of fall.

Shoes will have to be worn.

Windows will have to be rolled up.

The ponds will freeze over.

So no more fishing.

The dragon fly’s will fly south for the winter. (or whatever dragon fly’s do, don’t mock me!)

No more birthday cake on the face. All the kids birthdays are in the warm months!

The sun won’t be quite so bright.

The rocks will be covered in snow

It will be way too cold for bathing suits.

The sprinkler will get put away.

Hopefully there will be fewer boo-boo’s. (yeah right, who are we kidding?)

And twice as many hugs.

And the promise that next year there will be one more baby to make us smile.

Good bye summer, we shall miss you.

And all that cake!

Granny is sick. I don’t know what to do about it. Her doctor is out of town this week, so if she needs to be seen, the e.r. is the best place for her. And I know as soon as I take her in there, they will put her in the hospital. It could be a good thing I know, but she hates it there, and I can’t take care of her there like I do here. I don’t know whats best. Maybe if she goes in, I can get a break. That sounds horrible, but I need a break.

Well we finally bought a new car. I am so stoked! We got a Chrysler Pacifica. It’s nice, a lot nicer than anything that I have ever even ridden in. It has a DVD player and heated leather seats. More than we need, but its good for Grandma, in between a car and a van in hight. It’s nice to have one less thing to worry about.

I am so lonesome though. I wish I had sombody to talk to, because well I have a lot on my mind, somebody to watch movies with and to yell at when I need to yell. I keep busy so that I don’t notice, but before I go to sleep at night I feel it.

Enough about that!

I love my granny. And she loves me, lol. But granny is getting forgetful. She gives me money. ALL. THE. TIME. Hurrah for me. Except if I keep the money, then the next time she wants to give me more cash, she will freak out. Because she has no money. And why don’t we ever take her to the bank. She can’t go around without any money in her purse. This is the lady hasn’t left the house in three weeks. I can barely even get her to change her nightgown. So I started to put the money back. But then she cought on to that. I kept putting back the same two 10 dollar bills. Every day. So now I have to have a backup 20 dollar bill. And I alternate. Sometimes its two fivers and a ten. She loves that! WOW she has change. Isn’t that special, lol. I love her soo much. She makes me giggle.

What else makes me giggle?

My sister. Definatly.

Yep.

How could she not? Even when she’s pissed. Or smelling a fart, I cant tell.

The other day I went into the bank. It took like 40 million hours. And I left my little sister out in the car, with promises of taco bell upon my return. I came out and she was giggling. And blowing bubbles. Which only made me giggle.

Plus, she is mad sexy. And sometimes, if I’m good, she makes me spaghetti. Whats not to love?

How to grow HUGE COLOSSAL and even SLIMY slugs.
Step one (1)

Buy a 150 year old house.

Step two (2)

Make sure there are plenty of cracks in the foundation of said house.

Step three (3)

Dig a big hole in the dirt floor in the basement of that house. Don’t ask questions, just do it! It would also help, but is not necessarily necessary, to not have proper guttering, allowing all the rain water to seep into dirt floor of the aforementioned basement.

Step four (4)

Toss a four pound bag of rotting bananas onto the front step of the same house. Let them get good and juicy, rain should help this.

Step five (5)

Fight with your sister about who should have to take the bananas to the trash barrels, for one week and a half at bare minimum.

Step six (6)

Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I’ve named him Stan and he is my very bestest friend. He has many, many other friends to help him eat his bananas. Many 6-8 inch fat friends who often get squished when a non-suspecting human stomps on them. SHUDDER AND SHREIK

Up for tomorrow. Grandma is teaching me how to can. I got her pressure canner, jars, and lids from her house. This is one thing that I’m not going miss out on learning from her. Thank heavens that she can remember things like that, even though she doesn’t know what time it is or what she just ate 10 minutes ago. Hopefully we will have some kick ass salsa and maybe some peach jam tomorrow!

So I manage apartments. And right now I have 3 empty and 2 more going to be empty. Finding people around here that aren’t complete idiots is hard work. Match that with two different teams painting and fixing up places and trying to keep track of them with trying to find a new vehicle that will seat 6 and carry all of grandmas crap around, and you get a brain dead me.

My dining room is halfway painted, and the living room needs to get done. And I have to feed all these people, on a budget. Which means I have to buy all that food. And eventually it comes out the other end, which means you also have to make sure there is t.p. in the bathrooms. Since people are using said bathrooms, they need to be cleaned every once in a while. And the laundry. Apparently people need clean clothes. And clean towels. And every once in a while, the trash needs to be taken out.

So when I ask my sister to do the dishes sometime today, thankyouverymuch? I would really like to come home and find a few of them done. But its only 6 o’clock and she’ll get them done okay!

Janelle: I’m hungry

Me: Eat something

Janelle: There’s nothing to eat!

Me: There’s all kinds of food.

Janelle: Yea but you have to make it.

Me: Theres all kinds of leftovers

Janelle: But theres no Cheesburgers

OH, poor baby. Now do the damn dishes!

I’m taking a blogging break from my kitchen. There is currently a peach pie and blueberry custard tartlets in my oven. I have a kitchen full of dirty dishes and I haven’t even started supper yet. But its spaghetti so that won’t take long at all. I also want to make banana bread and oatmeal cookies to send to aunt Karen. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a plumber in here so the toilet and sink can get fixed! YAY SINKS.

So I’m addicted to mario kart. What else is there to do when you have to stay in the house all day? I need to get some 9volt batteries so I can test the granny monitor. I think it will reach across to the library. That would be nice!

OH! Tomorrow I get to make enchiladas for a friend. Like 30 of them! Yay that means we will have them for dinner as well.

The days are getting shorter and soon it will be dark when I go and get mom from work. But for now this is my view crossing the river.

I’m ready for fall. Pumpkin bread and stew oh yea. Did I mention I love to cook? And the leaves around here are amazing! I smell pie.

So back about a month and a half ago some jerkoff young kid slammed into the van.

Resulting in this.

Needless to say, we need a new van. And my dad, being the ultimate procrastinator, is still trying to find just the right one to replace it. So we were on our way across the river and out in nowhereville when mom gets a call on her phone.

She was all like hello, Hello, HELLO, HELLOOOO

And I was all like, mom your phone already dropped them didn’t you hear the beeps?

And she was all like, yeah that just happens sometimes.

And I was like, yeah when you drop somebody!

And she was like, no it beeped like that earlier and it didn’t do anything.

And I was all like, whatever mom. Because mom is always right.

So she immediately tries calling them back. Like the signal suddenly got so much better or something.

I love my mother, I really do.

Anyway after multiple tries to call mystery man back, It turns out to be cousin Joe, stopping by for a surprise visit, and could we come get him because he doesn’t know where the new house is. Okay so we turn around and head for home. I should have known van hunting was a lost cause because we had already been delayed multiple times. Moms best friend from high school had called and I ended up having to give both the dogs baths because they rolled in shit excuse me, poo and granny wanted toast and dad takes forever to put on his shoes because there’s a rare tractor on RFD and well you get the picture.
So I don’t have a shiny new van to play with. And I still have to take mom into work this week.

BUT on the plus side, we had meatloaf for dinner! And we went out to see Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was awesome! I haven’t been to the movies in forever so it was a real treat.

my first post of whatever-ness

I do not profess to be a writer of any sort. In fact when I was in school, whenever we would get our writing projects back I wouldn’t even look at it. They went straight into the trash. So bare with me. Or is it bear?

But I digress.

See I don’t even know If I used digress right.

ANYWHOO. I have a lot going on in my life right now. And I hope this will be some sort of cheap therapy. I want to remember everything that’s going on.

So who am I? Well right now I am a 25 year old single woman. I co-exist with my parents, grandmother, sister, and Richie, who just kinda lives here. I have my doggens Leonard and Daisy, a hamster named Bruce and a bird named Birdie. I manage apartments for a living. I love cooking and photography and I try to sew every once in a while. In my free time I like to read. Right now I am on a reincarnation kick so I am reading anything to do with that.

But most of my time is spent with this woman:

But mostly I don’t mind. We don’t have much time left with her so whatever I can do to make her last days happy, I do. Which, happily involves a lot of pie. So a lot of my writing might be about her. Or it may not. You never know with me.
